Overseas Workers Are More Stressed and Burned Out

A recent Cigna Survey found an evolving expat landscape with tough challenges for employers. The survey revealed that the majority — 90% — of expats surveyed said they were stressed and felt burnout at work. The Cigna report showed that expats have felt increasingly more tired and stressed over the last couple of years compared with employees living in their home countries. This can be attributed to many different factors. However, one of the main issues seems to be the rising financial concerns, with only 38% of participants feeling confident about their current financial situation. Additionally, workers living abroad tend to feel more isolated, helpless, and lonely, all factors contributing to higher stress levels and burnout.
